We will be utilizing Non-Traditional Instruction (NTI) again this school year when inclement weather, illness, etc. prevents us from attending school. You will receive a One Call informing you when an NTI day will be used. All work for that day is expected to be turned in on the first day back to school. Late work will be treated the same as any other late assignment. Below is a brief description of each school’s NTI program.
William H. Natcher Elementary School
Today, preschool through 5th grade students will receive a white folder containing ten days’ worth of NTI work. Please keep this folder in a safe place! The lessons included will cover every subject. Since this is a substitute for an instructional day, expect the work to take roughly the same amount of time as a regular school day to complete. Your child’s teacher and, in some cases, instructional assistant will be available from 7:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. through email, Remind, etc. to assist with any questions you might have about the work.
Frederick Fraize Middle & High School
FFMS and FFHS students will utilize Google Classroom via their Chromebooks to complete their NTI work. On an NTI day, each teacher will post a lesson for his or her students to complete. Students can expect each lesson to take 45 to 55 minutes to complete. Teachers and, in some cases, instructional assistants will be available from 7:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. through email, Remind, Google Classroom, etc. to assist with any questions about the work. Middle and high school students who do not have reliable internet access for NTI days must return the completed form below by Friday, November 8th to receive paper-based assignments.
